  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: ½ cup grated carrots or bell peppers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. Sauté the onion in a skillet over medium heat until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. In a large bowl, combine sautéed onions, ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Fill each muffin cup three-quarters full with the mixture and drizzle extra ketchup on top if desired.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Allow cooling in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
