  • 2 black tea bags
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 4 cardamom pods (crushed)
  • 1 cup milk (or milk alternative)
  • Ice cubes (large)
  • Sweetener (honey or sugar) to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a small pot. Remove from heat and steep the two black tea bags and crushed cardamom pods for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the tea bags and cardamom pods; stir in ground cinnamon and ginger while warm. Sweeten to taste.
  3. Add 1 cup of milk to the spiced tea mixture; stir until well combined.
  4. Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for about 30 minutes until chilled.
  5. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled chai mixture over them. Sprinkle additional cinnamon on top for garnish.
