Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Ribeye Steak (1 inch thick, approx. 12 oz)
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil (extra virgin)
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
  • Optional: 2 sprigs Fresh Rosemary or Thyme
  • Optional: 2 tbsp Butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat (around 450°F/232°C).
  2. Pat the ribeye dry with paper towels and drizzle with olive oil. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.
  4. Flip the steak using tongs and add butter and herbs on top. Baste with melted butter while cooking for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Check doneness with an instant-read thermometer: aim for 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare or 140°F (60°C) for medium.
  6. Remove from heat and let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.
