  • 500g lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 800g canned whole peeled tomatoes (crushed by hand)
  • 1 medium carrot, finely diced
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 100ml red wine
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by chopping onions, garlic, carrots, and celery into small pieces.
  2. In a large pan over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté onions and celery until soft (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add minced garlic and ground beef; cook until browned (6-8 minutes).
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes and red wine; simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Season with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper; simmer uncovered for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente (8-10 minutes).
  7. Serve spaghetti topped with Bolognese sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
