  • 1 bay leaf
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbly. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  2. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the rinsed Basmati rice and lightly toast for 1 minute.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth, cumin, and bay leaf; bring to a boil while stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.
  5. Remove from heat, let sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
