This healthy apple crisp is a heartwarming dessert that combines the sweetness of baked apples with a crunchy oat topping, infused with cinnamon and maple syrup.   • 6 cups Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional), chopped
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and half of the maple syrup until coated.
  3. In another bowl, combine rolled oats, almond flour, walnuts (if using), melted coconut oil, and remaining maple syrup until crumbly.
  4. Layer the spiced apples in a greased baking dish and top with the oat mixture.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
