  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread (for serving)
  • Tzatziki sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb and beef with grated onion, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Transfer the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and shape into a rectangular loaf about 1 inch thick.
  3. Chill the loaf in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for approximately 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  5. Allow to rest before slicing thinly against the grain. Serve with warmed pita and tzatziki sauce.
