Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ÂĽ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ÂĽ cup fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in flour and salt until combined. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. While dough rises, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat; add minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 2 minutes).
  5. Punch down the risen dough and divide into roughly 20 pieces; roll each piece into a ball. Dip each ball into melted garlic butter before stacking in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Sprinkle parmesan cheese between layers as you stack the dough balls. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
