Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water in a large pot. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté Garlic and Shrimp: In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp of butter with olive oil. Add minced garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, approximately 3-4 minutes.
  3. Create the Sauce: Stir in the remaining butter and red pepper flakes (if using). Pour in lemon juice and mix well to form a rich garlic butter sauce.
  4. Combine: Toss cooked spaghetti with the shrimp mixture in the skillet over low heat, adding reserved pasta water gradually until you reach your desired sauce consistency.
  5. Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley before serving hot.
