Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese curds
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 cups oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and set up a dredging station with flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper in the last bowl.
  2. Coat each cheese curd by rolling it in flour, dipping it into the eggs, then rolling it in panko until fully coated.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Test readiness by dropping a breadcrumb into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.
  4. Fry the coated cheese curds in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
  5. Allow the curds to cool slightly before serving with marinara sauce or ranch dressing.
