  • 4 medium Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and quartered
  • 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Toss apple quarters in the mixture until well-coated.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares large enough to wrap each apple quarter.
  4. Place an apple quarter in the center of each square and fold the edges over to seal.
  5. Brush melted butter over each dumpling and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Drizzle warm caramel sauce over baked dumplings before serving.
