  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a medium bowl until fully liquefied.
  3. Mash the bananas in another bowl until smooth.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Stir in mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. If desired, fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
