  • 2 cups marinara sauce (your choice)
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ziti in salted boiling water until al dente; drain.
  3. In a skillet, brown ground meat if using, then mix in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, combine ricotta with half of mozzarella and Italian seasoning.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the meat sauce, ziti, and ricotta mixture. Repeat layers.
  6. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan; cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
